I’ve thought for a long time what to write in this Blog, but now I’ve got it! Tonight, I came home from eating at a rather new restaurant in Vancouver and I’ve decided to blog about the food I eat.
MARKET by World Famous Chef Jean-Georges
I visited MARKET with a friend PM to celebrate my belated birthday. It was really nice of him to take me to this great new restaurant, I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.
We couldn’t find parking, so we parked about a block away and then walked along Alberni St. That’s when we saw the underground parking on the side. Guess we should have looked closer when we were driving by.
It was really hard finding the entrance to MARKET. We walked up and down Alberni St…passed Urban Fare, all the way to the end of the block. We saw a very nice lounge but no doors to enter!
After looking around some more, we walked to Georgia and entered from the main entrance.
Right when you step in, three floors up, you’ll see a grand circle where the hostess will greet you. You walk into a dimly lit room with little round lounge chairs and to your left is a beautiful PINK bar! That’s the bartender you see on the right.
Their selection of wines and liquor is broad. Beside the bar is a huge see-through wine cellar.
We were seated a very nice table that you can look out into the streets. The flowers at every table and every corner are fresh cut and smells very nice.
The table cloths are very nice and I observed out loud how many tablecloths they go through a day. The waitress heard me and said, “Lots and lots!”
Unlike many other high class restaurants, the tables here have ample room. When I reach my arms across the table, there’s still plenty of room before I punch out my dinner partner
hehehe
There’s so much to write about! I’ll continue tomorrow!
